And You Don’t Think We Have a Problem

ITS TIME TO GORE SOME OXEN

The health of a democratic society may be measured by the quality of functions performed by private citizens.
Alexis de Tocqueville

It was once common knowledge that the American experiment was built around the dislike and distaste for an over bearing and all powerful government.  The Boston Tea Party was a demonstration of that resistance.  There was an actual distaste for taxation without representation.  This is really what is happening today,  we have taxation with a pseudo representation of self interested, self aggrandizing and a “minority” of “aristocrats” making decisions unrepresentative “of the people”.

WHY AND WHEN DID TAXATION BECOME POPULAR?

The government allowing grants and partnerships with “non-profits” is just part of the problem and not part of the solution.

From ACORN to NEA to Planned Parenthood to Faith Based Initiatives to the Red Cross to Freddie and Fannie to The Catholic Relief Services to the scam artists offering help to get YOU a government grant.  Then don’t even get me started on all the bail out money.  Then we have the increases in Pell grants which only let the JCs increase the costs.  Wonder why college costs have been increasing, check the increase in federal dollars given in aid.

I cannot even get a dollar figure on all the money that is out there.  How much money has been thrown away over the years?

The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.
Alexis de Tocqueville

Who can get money from the government?
Anyone/general public, Individual/Family, Small business, Federal, Interstate, Intrastate, State, Local, Sponsored organization, Public nonprofit institution/organization, Other public institution/organization, Federally Recognized Indian Tribal Governments, U.S. Territories, Minority group, Specialized group (e.g. health professionals, students, veterans), Profit organization, Private nonprofit institution/organization, Quasi-public nonprofit organization, Other private institution/organization, Native American Organizations, Health Professional, Education Professional, Student/Trainee, Graduate Student, Scientist/Researchers, Artist/Humanist, Engineer/Architect, Builder/Contractor/Developer, Farmer/Rancher/Agriculture Producer, Industrialist/Business Person, Small Business Person, Consumer, Homeowner, Land/Property Owner, Black, American Indian, Spanish Origin, Oriental, Other Non-White, Migrant, U.S. Citizen, Refugee/Alien, Veteran/Service Person/Reservist (including dependants), Women, Handicapped (e.g. deaf, Blind, Crippled), Physically Afflicted (e.g. TB, Arthritis, Heart Disease), Mentally Disabled, Drug Addict, Alcoholic, Juvenile Delinquent, Infant (0-5), Preschool, School, Child (6-15), Youth (16-21), Senior Citizen (60+), Unemployed, Welfare Recipient, Pension Recipient, Moderate Income, Low Income, Major Metropolis (over 250,000), Other Urban, Suburban, Rural, Education (grades 0-8), Education (grades 9-12), Education (grades 13+).

This is an issue all Americans should be rallying against.  Wash the scales from your eyes and try to stop the madness of a government out of control.  These programs are a breeding ground for the corruption we all want to stop.
