Could someone tell the politicians the difference?

What has been going on in our society is a distortion of the English language.  Politicians talk about “civil rights”, what they do is lump anything they want to govern and dominate into the cauldron of “civil rights”. 

Civil rights is a derivative of civics which is: 

  • connected with city administration: relating to the government of a town or city
  • relating to community: connected with the duties and obligations of belonging to a community
  • Voting is a civil right.

    The rights belonging to an individual by virtue of citizenship, especially the fundamental freedoms and privileges guaranteed by the 13th and 14th Amendments to the U.S …

    Rights protected by the U.S. Constitution. These rights can be enforced by court action. Among them are the right to own property, to utilize the courts, to marry, to contract, and to obtain other benefits set out by law, including all rights set out in federal statutes.

    It does not have anything to do with health care or getting a good deal at a store or bank or buying a used car from your neighbor.  Those things would be found under contract law:  In law, a contract is an agreement between two or more parties, that if it contains the elements of a valid legal agreement is enforceable by law or by binding arbitration. That is to say, a contract is an exchange of promises with a specific remedy for breach.  We just don’t hang people anymore for breach of contract. i.e. someone selling you a mule which was sick at the time of purchase and it died the next day.

    The politicians have convoluted trade and business with government interference. 

    I should be able to say and reject anyone and anything, i.e. people who stink-people who pick their noses, people who are crude in speech, people who gossip and spread rumors, but you better not let a government discriminate against its citizens.  Citizen is the operative.

    More people need to discover the difference between what a real civil right is and what it isn’t.

    Jimmy Carter in his Human Rights initiative way back in the seventies has put the United States in peril.  It almost looks like a scheme set out by certain anti-Americans or the blame America first crowd to pull us down to other nation’s levels.  I cannot remember the last time we used electric shock to the genitals of dissidents of American citizens, that was government approved at any level. 

    Tell me the last time an American female citizen was stoned for being raped or beheaded for showing a little cheesecake?

    Let us get some of these idiots who don’t know a human right from a civil right to try to explain themselves.  Does anyone care to understand that human rights are spelled out most clearing in this admission:

    ” That all men are by nature equally free and independent, and have certain inherent rights, of which, when they enter into a state of society, they cannot, by any compact, deprive or divest their posterity; namely, the enjoyment of life and liberty, with the means of acquiring and possessing property, and pursuing and obtaining happiness and safety.”……………..The first and second article of the Virginia Declaration of Rights adopted unanimously by the Virginia Convention of Delegates on June 12, 1776 and written by Gerge Masono

    Individuals within a society may not uphold such noble ideals, but the government has the obligation to do so.

    There is no one person who has gone through life without some form of prejudice.  I don’t like pepper, so I have a prejudice against pepper-I don’t like the current TV offerings on network stations, there is my prejudice against those writers.  I don’t like the open borders concept touted by the liberal leftists, and I have no preference to who these illegals are be them Russians or Latinos or Canadians or Kenyans or from Easter Island or France or Germany-so how does that make me a racist or bigot?

    So when a person thinks they have civil rights they would if they were a citizen of the locality they are living in.  Don’t confuse human rights with civil rights, laws are civil to support a civil society.  Human rights prevail as long as you are not impinging on my human rights and civil rights.
