Too many are too young to remember-THE MEDICARE CATASTROPHIC COVERAGE ACT

Congress tells us they have been waiting 100 years for government healthcare:
READ OUR LIPS
READ OUR SIGNS
READ OUR VOTES
OUR GRANDPARENTS DIDN?T WANT IT
OUR PARENTS DIDN?T WANT IT
WE DON?T WANT IT
OUR CHILDREN DON?T WANT IT
AND NEITHER DO OUR GRANDCHILDREN WANT IT
WHAT IS IT ABOUT THE WORD NO, YOU DON?T UNDERSTAND?

They tried it before and we didn’t want it then:

Representative Dan Rostenkowski of Illinois, one of the most powerful members of Congress, was booed and followed down the street by a group of screaming elderly people Thursday as he left a meeting with community leaders opposed to his stance on a program intended to protect the elderly from the high costs of extended illnesses.

Several dozen people shouted ”Liar!” ”Impeach!” and ”Recall!” when Mr. Rostenkowski, the Democrat who heads the House Ways and Means Committee, left a community center in the North Side district of Chicago that he has represented for 30 years.

The group briefly blocked his car, hitting it with picket signs and pounding on the windows. Mr. Rostenkowski got out of the car and walked briskly down the street for about a block, with the protesters in pursuit. The driver then drove the car to a gasoline station, the Congressman got back in and the car sped away.

As he walked down the street, Mr. Rostenkowski said, ”I don’t think they understand what’s going on. That’s too bad.”

The incident occurred after Mr. Rostenkowski discussed his support for the Catastrophic Coverage Act of 1988 in a private meeting with representatives of six organizations for the elderly.

MEDICARE’S CATASTROPHIC Coverage Act, which sparked a senior citizens’ tax revolt, is no more. President Bush signed the repeal Wednesday night of the year-old program that upset retirees facing income tax surcharges up to $800 apiece. Bush, who stayed on the sidelines all year as Congress debated whether to modify the program or abandon it altogether, signed the bill in private, offering no comment. The government expects repeal of the act to raise the federal deficit for fiscal 1990 by $4.8 billion but reduce the deficit by $15.8 billion over the next four years.  (December 15, 1989-Orlando Sentinel)

Coverage of 15 to 30 million individuals can be taken care of without the complete overhaul of our healthcare system.

The “Obamacare” which passed in March of this year really didn’t care about the uninsured, it was more concerned about control of our health care whether one was covered or not.  Don’t be fooled by the  charlatans who are practicing their quackery on the American public.  “Obamacare” is nothing but a confidence trick in order to obtain more power over the populace.  The bill does nothing to address to “cost” of health care-which is actually our responsiblity, you gotta shop around when you pay for your own doctor’s visits and medicine.  One should pay more to have pre-existing diseases covered.  I remember the days when a policy was nothing more than a catastrophic policy-office visits where not covered unless that office visit led to hospitalization.  Define insurance for me, does your car insurance cover every oil change, tires and lubes?  It shouldn’t and neither should health insurance.

The bill is as stupid as:

San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors voting 8-3 on Tuesday to approve an ordinance that would limit toy giveaways in fast food children’s meals that have excessive calories, sodium and fat. It also requires servings of fruits or vegetables with each meal.

”Progressivism is actually regressivism, it takes the individuals power and turns if over to an oppressive government.  This has been tried since the beginning of time and has always let to slavery.  King George, Mao, Lenin, and all brutal regimes that control their people.  We did fight a little war in 1776 to abolish the dominion of kings and princes and aristocracy.  I am not willing for my generation to give dominion to the neo-aristocracy.  They call it leaning forward-no it is doing back about 250 years in history.  If you believe that progressives are progressive you are horribly misinformed.  Think about it.  If you think progressivism only breaks on free from the shackles of Christianity, you are mistaken,  progressivism is more repressive than anything found in the Bible.  Think about the truth and the fallacies of progressivism.  Through the ignorance of political correctness, the wrong headedness of “global warming” and the unattainability of the mythical Utopia, we all have been imprisoned in this progressivism that has paraded around as “caring for the youth and the elderly and the minorities”.  Think about it.
