A Very Busy Week-End

As I was listening and reading this morning to the happenings around the world, I couldn’t pick a topic to add my 12 cents to.

The Wisconsin protests still happening will give many another chance to pontificate:  I have said what it is I needed to say.

There is one occurance that is related to this putting the breaks on the public unions that should giver everyone pause:  Labor Secretary Solis has forgotten what her roll is, she Labor Secretary not a Labor Union Secretary.  She is supposed to be an impartial arbirator between all  labor, whether unionized or not.  She is not the Labor Unions representative, and I find it appalling that a Cabinet Secretary would choose sides.

“Overseeing the Department of Labor, the secretary of labor monitors, stimulates and alleviates the quality of life of working individuals. The secretary analyzes and records employment statistics, enforces workplace safety regulations and administers unemployment compensation benefits. The secretary of labor may also testify to the United States Congress on matters related to labor and employment.”
My mind again was triggered to question, when Susan Rice U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations was speechifing the accomplishments over the week-end of the members of the Security Council over finally voting on sanctions and condemnation of Lybia.  I was curious as to how much it cost us to get Lebanon and Nigeria and Gabon and China to vote in favor of the the resolution.  I am just curious, since they all just were a little queezy with having to reprimand so many of them tolerate for the sake of stability to that damn oil.  They are still wondering and debating a “no fly” zone over Lybia, that makes no sense to keep debating-too many lawyers trying put their 2 cents into the document obviously.  Perhaps they don’t know how to enforce it.

Then there is poor pathetic Charlie Sheen who thinks he really is an actor.  For 8 long years he has delivered stupid one liners of lockerroom humor, I guess he doesn’t realize he is still in the 11th grade.  Two and a Half Men is right up there with How I Met Your Mother for depth and intelligence of a 13 year old boy who has just reached puberty.  So many of the so called “situation comedy” programs seem so much more contrived, because there is no real acting in them all they do is just deliver the lines for the sake of delivering the lines.  I wonder how old the writers are for these programs. They certainly aren’t worldly enough to even make a double entendre or innuendo (whichever you prefer) which are much more fun and show a higher level of intelligence.

Why has so much good air time been given to this freak Charlie Sheen?

Anyone watching North Korea?   US and South Korean troops on Monday launched major annual land, sea and air exercises, amid North Korean threats to turn Seoul into a “sea of flames” in the event of any provocation.

No comment on Academy Awards, haven’t watched any in the past 20 years.

Buckles, last WWI doughboy, dies at 110 in W.Va.  With him goes anymore reflection about that war.  No one under the age of 55 even cares.

Oil is up to $99.96 and still nothing is done or mentioned by the Whitehouse.  I keep believing in “drill baby drill”.  What are we saving all our natural resources for?  China has been buying the worlds natural resources as we sleep.

Government is planning to help more home owners, all their help really hasn’t helped at all.

………and the beat goes on and on and on and on, I just thank God for the gift of golf.
